This is the a commissioned Highland Targe by Celtic Leatherworks. This leather shield was carried by the Highland warrior for personal defense. The foreground of this targe features a magnificent cross encircled by the Latin “Si Vis Pacem Para Bellum”, “If You Wish Peace, Prepare For War”. The Celtic hounds along the inside ring stand vigil awaiting what may come. The hand hammered brass boss has been etched with a similar cross to accent the shield. The back is covered with fur and has adjustable arm straps with reproduction brass buckles. This targe is 19 inches in diameter and weighs about 10 pounds.

This targe is fully functional, but is intended as Celtic art. It will be an heirloom that you will want to pass down to your children.
